Considered as one of the most promising French pianists of his generation, Dexter Goldberg has an atypical background. He grew up with Dexter Gordon’s recordings and the Goldberg variations.
His unique style and his compositions reflect this duality, with a touch of classical music and be-bop intertwined. A former percussionist completely transformed, he discovers multiple and changed worlds, moving freely from a poetical and Debussy-like lyricism to sharp and dynamic polyrhythm.
Dexter finds inspiration from his American and French roots and stirs the unknown with a secret spell only known to himself…

Depuis 2013, Jazz à L’Etage accompagne un jeune talent « Made In Breizh » en lui proposant un temps de résidence de création, une diffusion, de nombreux outils en vue de le soutenir dans son développement de carrière. La Ferme de la Harpe s’associe à ce projet en accueillant Dexter Goldberg et son groupe en résidence. A l’issue de ce travail, Dexter Goldberg présentera sa création le 21 mars en clôture du festival au Liberté (Rennes).
